This can happen if you deleted your ccmerged.package, or if you have decrapped your prosperity tree sims3pack. If it's the former, you will need to reinstall it. If it's the latter you can download a fix for it.

Is that the word you meant to use (in bold)?  I'm thinking not, but I don't know what you're actually saying to fix it.

Yes, that is the word I meant, or more commonly called 'decrapifying'. Breaking it down simply, it's a process that removes unnecessary extra code from sims3packs.

Unfortunately the solutions did not work. Sim can eat fruit but no skill point.

Did you try using the ccmerged.package that came with the fix? You need to replace your own one with it.

There may be a conflict with the fix and the current patch. I'm sorry you can't get it working :(

Have you tried doing a factory reset folder and redownloading Lunar Lakes to see if it will work in the new folder?

This isn't a ccmerged issue. The skill gain is determined by the script itself, which does not rely on the ccmerged.package. There is something else causing the sim to not be able to gain the skill. Have you tried using the Tree of Prosperity with a different sim?

Ricalynn's suggestion is the best and it's what I would have suggested. If installing Lunar Lakes/Tree of Prosperity into a clean folder makes the Tree of Prosperity work, then there is something wrong with your current Sims 3 folder.

You could also try resetting your sim with the resetsim cheat. It is possible for a sim to get corrupted and not be able to gain any skill, although in that case I would expect the sim to reset when trying to use the fruit. It's still worth a try.
