I would definitely vote for Ambitions. I have WA now and it's not really as exciting as it sounds. The adventures are kind of lame and you don't get much of a reward for them, you have to work nonstop through your entire travel time to upgrade your Visa to stay there longer, and  the trips cost a lot of money anyway. Besides the 3 new locations there isn't much else that WA has to offer.

Wa OR Ambitions? Hmmm, since money is the problem obviously, choosing is a hard thing to do.
Well, simply saying, you can see it this way; what do you like more to do: vacations or work? Not personal, because the answer could be obviously, but for sims.
In my opinion I will pick Ambitions, because I find it more realistic than World Adventures. And of course you don't have to wait for that load screen EA has promised us back in juli 2009 to not show those to us again in a sims game.
But... every game has it's benefits and downsides. So again: choosing is hard.

My real opinion? Don't choose. Just save more money and buy them both. ;)

I haven't played WA extensively yet, none of those LTW have come up in my Legacy Challenge yet, but I have played Ambitions. I think so far I like that one more. While both allow for more interaction that the base game, Ambitions keeps it going, while WA only has it in vacation spurts.

I haven't bought ambitions yet but I can tell you my opinion of WA, and I love it! Addicted to it! Yes, it's true it's only for vacations as such, but it does add three absolutely stunningly gorgeous worlds (I never tire of seeing the sunset over the Nile). And I love all the tomb adventures, and the relic collections, it really suits my type of gameplay (and yes, I have played other games that are far more involved and technical like Tomb Raider, etc).

What still remains to be seen is whether I would play all the tombs again if I start a new storyline, as in how much continuity there will be. So far though I've still got loads to do  ;D

And hopefully I'll soon be able to buy Ambitions!

You can only do a major adventure once per save game (Completed Adventures)

That's exactly how I think of it. WA is nice for a while, especially when you first get it and are overwhelmed by all the new locations and adventures and skills. But all of that new stuff gets old after a while and eventually I started to feel that the cost and load time it takes to go to those new locations just aren't worth it. It certainly does satisfy a certain type of gamer, but it doesn't quite suit my tastes.

Even though it costs money to visit the World Adventures locations, you can make a lot more money while you're there.  It pays for the trip many times over and is a good source for quick cash.

I don't really use the WA, but when I do I don't really do the challenges. I just don't have time. I like ambitions because of the jobs and another town, but I'm glad I've got WA because I've got them in order of release dates.

I have to ask...  how do you not have time for the challenges/adventures?

When I first got WA, I went into overload.  I played for hours cramming in as much tomb and adventure time as possible.  I had a sim that bought a house in every country and I played extensively.  Then I started slowing down a bit.  I like both of the games.  When I play romance, I do the whole thing, date, marry, honeymoon, (France usually) and profession or jobs, then kids and then family vacations.  So I use the whole package.  The games are only what you make it.  When I get bored, I come up with something else that takes me to another level.  If you have time to play, you have time to experiment.
Is it true that cannibals don't eat clowns because they taste funny?

I like to just get my sims to get good jobs and families, I'm not very patience with it and want it all now, I have done a few adventures and have enjoyed it. Plus I don't get a lot of actual game play time. But I think I'll have to create a single sim and start the adventures.

Yo maddyclyde9, after all those advises here from all us, do you already made a decision yet? Like what would it be: World Adventures, or Ambitions?

Something is telling me you will wait until Late Night arives and throw that one also in concideration... :P

That is certainly what I've decided to do. I thought I had my heart on Ambitions, but when I heard about the new Late Night coming out I decided I would rather wait on Ambitions and get Late Night now. I must admit, if I could go back in time and trade WA for Ambitions I would. Then my Sims collection would be perfect  :D
