How To Fix Pausing Every Few Seconds Without Resetting All Sims

Jagid I can't thank you enough for your help in the China games. The simple ResetSim NPCName solved my issues without messing anything else up. Since the lots in question actually contain quests, I'm not inclined to make them "No Visitors Allowed" lots, but clearing out the stuck sims seems to help.

I haven't tried the jogging tip on that terrain above the Terracotta Army, but it sounds much more fun than "go here" a bunch of times. So double thanks.

I will report that my first attempt had some unintended consequences. I first just ResetSim *. My sim then lost his truck. His personal vehicle he just abandoned on the road and used a bicycle instead. Also his interactions with the NPCs weren't going especially well after they were all reset. I don't know if this was chance or a real bug. Happily I could go back to the game before I "fixed" it because of everyone's (and especially Pam's) insistence that I save save save. That was when I visited Hot Springs and sent each NPC home individually. The problem has not resurfaced since I did that.

Making the lots with quests on them, in China, "No Visitors Allowed" does not interfere with quests.  Whenever I start a new game, the first thing I do, from the home "edit town" screen is change the problem lots in China.  It stops NPC using these lots, but not your sim.  The only problem lot where you cannot do this is the one below the Market.  This can be a problem as the shop staff sometimes go into it and can't find their way out.  Making sure that you find the hidden back staircase helps though.
