Island Paradise game crash while scuba diving
« on: July 03, 2013, 01:11:19 PM »
Hey guys, I love Island Paradise but I can't experience everything due to one problem - when I tried to scuba dive, the game freezes up and then crashes. I tried everything I could think of, deleting the caches, removing mods, everything, and it STILL crashes when I try to scuba dive. I really want to experience scuba diving but I don't know how to handle this crashing issue. I have an HP Pavilion, a pretty old model which has had issues with lag and processing power and I can't afford a better machine. Do I have to make all the graphics blocky and ugly and set all graphics settings to low to get scuba diving to work, because if I do I just will never scuba dive.  >:(
I play The Sims 4 for fun, so I don't care if I never end up being interviewed for the Dynasty Hall of Fame; people who play for keeps burn out too easily and don't enjoy playing the games, so I am going to not sweat the details.

Have you tried just lowering a few settings? do you have advanced rendering on?

I had not tried advanced rendering, but I know I will have to lower a few settings.  I guess that's the price you play for installing a complex expansion like this on a primitve computer. :-\ I will edit this post to report on the results later.

EDIT: It worked, I entered Rubelis's house and had him scuba dive and it brought me into the underwater world perfectly. I set all settings I did to low and turned on advanced rendering. Now I'll have to deal with Error 13 a lot more but hey, it's Under The Sea for me!  ;D
