Getting attacked by a shark

By chance I ended up doing the "questchain" received when asking for adventures at resort checkin. Now I am at the end where I need to fight a shark.how do I find the sharks? Do I need to learn scuba diving  or swimming ok?

Yes, you need the scuba diving skill as sharks are found in diving areas. You need to get to level two in the diving skill to unlock the first diving area, Rocky Reef. You get a higher chance of getting into a fight with a shark if you have fish or meat in your sim's inventory.

Actually there are places where sharks swim without the diving skill. Above Rocky Reef is one of those places.  It will randomly spawn some sharks occasionally just swim near the diving buoy and one will pop out.

I wish I had seen my townie get attacked by a shark in time for a screenshot, I guess the townie won, lol.  I had placed a spawner for a top swimming shark and a few people were swimming, when I saw big splashes and got there just in time to see the shark swim away, I am just too slow, but from what I saw it was pretty funny.

You also can not be a mermaid. I tried with one of mine and I had to turn him into a non mermaid in order to complete the chain
