I have a question about mermaid children: at what point do they get hydration instead of hygiene? I thought I read this on another forum that it was supposed to be either at teen age or child age. Did I miss read this at some point?

Whenever your merchildren age up into merteens they get all their fun mertraits: hydration instead of hygiene, a tail when they swim, etc. Until then they're like normal humans but with scales on their legs. And they may not get as much satisfaction from food that isn't fish or kelp. I'm not sure on that one.

I thought it was a definite thing that meals don't fulfill hunger motives for mermaids anyway, only kelp and raw fish?

Does this also mean that food cooked with kelp or fish gives 25% less Hunger for mermaids?  I'm a bit confused here.

I have a question about mermaids. The guide says that if you befriend a mermaid, he/she will give the secret island to you. Is this possible from mermaid to mermaid? For instance, can my mermaid sim befriend another mermaid to get this or is it just human to mermaid?

 I have another question if anybody sees this. How do you get the "hang out" option w/a mermaid? My sim is best friends w/Triton now, but the "hang out" option just will not appear. Everything else seems to appear. Also when I tried doing a romantic move, it didn't go well. Maybe Triton is not such an easy catch?
