I'm sort of disappointed with the Omni Plant.  I worked so hard to use powers and make ambrosia twice to keep my senior sim alive to keep the challenge going.  It's my fault I guess, I assumed the Omni Plant was the plant on the Gardening Channel that you feed meat to.

I read online what it actually does so I know now.

But, what is that plant that the host feeds something to then gets eaten?

Sounds like the Cow Plant. It was an object from The Sims 2 (which is where the footage for The Sims 3 TV stations comes from), but it's also been introduced into The Sims 3 online store. I don't think that the console versions have access to that, though.

There's actually a cow plant in the decor section under plants but it's not like that.  It's a tiny potted plant that you don't need to water and does nothing.  That's interesting about the footage from the TV stations being from The Sims 2.  I played The Sims 2 for console a while back but didn't care for it too much.  The thing that turned me off the most was hearing sound effects from sims going to the bathroom.  I realize you can read a newspaper or play a game on a PSP but it turned me off.

I believe if you have internet access on your console you can do the sims store.  I don't have internet access so I can't.

I know of the plant you are talking about, and it is just a decor item.  The one sunnydays is mentioning is for the PC version of the Sims 3.
