Sims 3 Expansion Packs disappeared from launcher (PC)

Hi all,

Searched and searched and searched but can't find anything.

I own:
SIMS 3
World Adventures
Ambitions
Late Night
Generations
Pets
University
Island Paradise
Into the Future

They're all registered and downloadable from origin. When I download all, in order, and install, in order, it doesn't show me World Adventures, Ambitions or Late Night in the expansions and stuff bit on the launcher, or give me any of the content in game.

Can anybody help? I'm on about my fourth time uninstalling and reinstalling and it's doing my nut in!

I'm not sure what you mean by not loading. But I'm going to take a guess that they are missing from within Origin?

If so, take a look at this thread:

Also if you're using the Origin download version of Sims 3, patch 1.69 you'll need to checkmark all the expansions you have in the Expansion & Stuff Pack tab in the launcher, before you click Play. Otherwise your expansions won't show up.

I'm currently reinstalling again and currently have WA, Ambitions, LN and Generations installed. This is what origin looks like:

So what sounds like is happening is that the launcher isn't recognizing that you've got the expansions installed.

I'm not finding much on this problem right now. But will post back when I find something.

Yeah, that would be a good description. The game doesn't either when it actually plays. I.e. the content isn't in there.

I've checked the game files in Programfiles(x86)/Origin Games/TheSims3 and they're there. I've also tried pressing play directly off one of the "invisible" expansions in origin but all to no available.

Thank you for letting me try to troubleshoot the problem.

Still not really finding any good tips to fix the problem. But want to ask if you've run Ccleaner and it's registry cleaner in between install/uninstall?

As an update, I've spent the last two days on the phone to EA to no avail.

Followed all your instructions as well.

I'm not going away until EA make this work...

Thank you SO much for the update!! I am really sorry to hear none of the suggestions worked. I'm wondering if it might just be a bug? I'm thinking yes it just might be.

From what it sounds like it's something that EA/Maxis will have to make a bug fix for. -- As the digital/download version is not working properly.

It gives the suggestion of uninstall/reinstall Origin to see if that will fix the problem. - It will not hurt what's already installed game wise. As they get installed in to different folders.

Ok, so EA have been absolutely useless.

Found my old WA disc so installed that. Works.

Now just need to find my ambitions and late night discs.

Thanks for the new update!!   Hopefully finding Ambitions and Late Night discs will help in getting this fixed.
