How do you make a rug?

In one of the houses I've been fooling around with in DV, there is a large "rug" of different patterns and colors.  Except it isn't a rug at all but rather is floor squares that are colored and placed together to make a rug.  How do you do that from the beginning to finish?

I would go into build or buy mode and use Create-a-Style on each floor tile.

If you're using a striped pattern and want the edges to do a 90 degree turn you need to use the quarter floor tile (Ctrl+F) and your . & , keys to turn them. 

A lot of patterns that are in the floor tile section have been used to create these patterns.  One of my favorites is in the Lucky Palms library.
