Messed up World

Today I noticed something really off about my town. I've been playing on Aurora Skies and I noticed that the small, abandoned houses (picture on this page http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/forum/index.php?topic=14439.100) were missing from the town. When I tried looking for them on the map view I realized an even larger problem. My community lots no longer work. Instead of having the correct icon (like a grocery cart for the grocery store) they just have a bench. A few of the lots do work but they are only lots that came with expansion packs. I believe that some sims have been missing from the town too but I haven't really looked into it yet. I figured that my save file was corrupt so I used that backup file but I'm still having the same issues. Any ideas on what I could do?

Welcome to the forum.

I would redownload the world using a new .sims3pack from the store.  Don't uninstall but maybe try to reinstall over top of the one you have now.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to reinstall it. I've been having problems with my launcher and it won't install anything. When I try to it stops responding and I have to force quit. I tried reinstalling all of my games recently because of the issue but it still isn't working. I'm not sure what I can do to fix either of my issues.
