Is EA trying to discontinue Sunset Valley?

Every since the new patch and about 2 weeks before that, EA has been moving their created  'townies' either to other towns or killing them off. Does anyone know if EA is slowly empting and d/c SV to get ready for Sims 4?

No, EA can't discontinue Sunset Valley because it's part of the base game. If your Sunset Valley is losing residents, that's partly story progression and partly based on what your computer can handle. If you start a new game in Sunset Valley, you'll have the same beginning residents every time.
