Male sims hitting on my MALE sim?
« on: June 16, 2013, 12:07:34 AM »
I sent one of my sims to University. (He is handsome... o.o) That's good and all, he attracts all the cute girls (and ugly ones), what more could a guy ask for? Except, guys are flirting with him! Every single time he meets someone, and it's a boy, they are like "Oh, let's get to know each other!"

My sim does not have the attractive lifetime reward, nor has he ever made any romantic interactions with a male. I want it to stop! My sim gets the "attractive company" moodlet around other guys and girls. Not my or my sims fault! The guy's fault! Is he gay? Is there even a possibility to be gay? (Also, how do you post pictures in this?)

The game doesn't have any gender barriers to romance (other than two sims of the same sex not being able to make babies, but that's a given). The attraction system in the game doesn't discriminate either. Sims don't have any sort of defined orientation, so your sim isn't fully gay. Just open-minded. ;)

However, the chance that another man will actually flirt with your sim is pretty small. I don't see autonomous same-sex romance too often in the game.
No respect, no chance, cease and desist when I chant-

But i never experienced it before! It only started to happen when I accidentaly clicked "heat of the moment kiss." with a girl while playing with my female sim! Then girls started flirting with her and I didn't really care. But it get's so annoying because I'm trying to get some guy friends for my male sim and it just makes me look at him weirdly when he gets "attractive company." The only actual male friends he has is his pet falcon :I, thats pretty sad.

Welcome to our Forum, WolfJulia.

Even though this has never happened to you before, it does happen in the game.  As Trip said, there are no gender barriers to romance.  I've seen plenty of same gender Sims act romantic toward each other, and I'm talking about ones I don't even control.  All you can do is ignore it and direct your Sim to do what you want.

Yep, it happens. There were times when female sims wants to hit on my female sim (even though she's already a mother), and there were also times when my male teenager sim brings home a male friend and they just get so.. intimate.
But yeah as Pam said, all you can do is ignore it.

It only started to happen when I accidentaly clicked "heat of the moment kiss." with a girl while playing with my female sim

I thought heat of the moment kiss option only appears after you've been flirting with a sim to a certain point. Have you been flirting with her?
You could also have been flirting with everyone else.. accidentally.

Or you could just roll with it. I had one female sim who was only attracted to female sims, only popped wishes for female sims, and only flirted with female sims, and I tried to fight it for a while but I figure that's just the way she is and I should just go with it. It all worked out in the end--she got pregnant with one of her male friends, married her alien girlfriend, and lived happily ever after.
I expect Azokka either to yell at everyone and totally dominate or else get out the popcorn.-Ombradellarosa

I've seen this on odd occasions but not very often, had a very strange one last night though, I've not really played any vampires and decided to try some, I didn't realise vampires cannot drink from another vampire else I might not have made a vamp couple, but then what luck the Bunch family showed up on the community lot next door, sent the husband to hunt and he picked Jack, Jack turned him down for a drink but then my sim tried a pick up line on him  :o Before he left the house to hunt he was all over his wife, maybe Jack is just that tasty  ???

I've noticed the sims at university seem to be more flirty and less gender oriented.  I'm used to lots of opposite-sex attraction messages in the regular worlds but noticed many more same-sex messages once I send my sim to university.  Maybe some of the sims there already have same gender attraction?  Or perhaps have a strong flirt motive for all genders?

There's no way to prevent other sims from finding your sim attractive (just wait until they've mastered a couple skills, hit the top of a career ladder, and made a nice chunk of simoleons - everyone will find them attractive!).  Ignore it or roll with it however you prefer.   :)

EVERYONE is attracted to my sims. And sometimes I feel odd about my married sim enjoying the company of other attractive sims. Guess they aren't the googly eyed hopeless romantics I see them as. I just shrug my shoulders and accept the nice mood bonus.
