Need Help! Game stops working

I have no idea what the heck is going on, but every time I go to save it waits a minute before giving me this crud about the Sims 3 has stopped working and closing out of the game. Its frustrating since I had to do a lot of progress twice before giving up.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to fix it?

Yeah, I built some additions to a house

There is a bug where building can cause crashes.  You need to wait 24 Sim hours after building at least and do a save as to hopefully get it to work.  The  reason for this is Seasons and some glitches involving rain puddles.

There are a number of solutions to try. Keep in mind that the bug can come back after you've fixed it, so always do a test save before you start going build crazy. The crashes only seem to happen if you add another floor level to the lot, so you may be able to prevent the issue by avoiding that, as annoying as that is. I'm really hoping this will be fixed in next patch.
