Second floor is the size of the entire lot

Hello,
I was hoping someone could help me solve a weird problem:

For whatever reason my second floor allows me to build on the entire lot. In other words, the buildable floor tiles for the second floor extent the size of my lot, but only for the second floor. I saw this both when i tried to use the auto roof on feature and also tried to move my mailbox. It kept telling me it needed to be outside....

There's one thing you could try. Go to Edit Town and save the house to your bin. Demolish the one that's in your town and replace it with your saved copy.
