Constant Nauseous Moodlets?
« on: June 03, 2013, 06:54:46 PM »
Hi lovely fellow forum-ers,
This is an odd one that I have never encountered before.
I am playing the Prendergast family in Dragon Valley, the woman who has 6 adopted children. Prior to this, I played the MacAnna family for one sim week in the same file.
Every time one of the kids eats something, they get the nauseous moodlet and I cannot figure out what's causing it! They have a butler who is responsible for most if not all the food prep.
Any possible causes / ideas for fixes?
Thanks!

You could delete the moodlet by using cheats, turning on testingcheatsenabled true, then shift-clicking the moodlet
I love this forum and just want to say thank you to everyone! :) Have a great rest of your day!

Do they get the nauseous moodlet from the bistro or diner? What about from quick meals? Are they vegetarian by any chance?

No they only eat at home, they still get it from quick meals, no vegetarians in the household. Cassidy (The "mother") is a vamp, but she only drinks plasma juice and is the only one who does not get the moodlet.

Is it possible that the butler is somehow preparing everything with plasma fruit?

Hmmm... this is I suppose a possibility! Even if they have no plasma fruit in the fridge, could he still be doing that?

he could still be doing that, I've had a Sim mooch food and always end up with plasma juice (though they aren't a vampire)  does the mother get the nausea moodlet or only the non-vampire children after eating?

I'm not fortheloveofcake, but while reading, I did notice this--   Cassidy (The "mother") is a vamp, but she only drinks plasma juice and is the only one who does not get the moodlet.

Correct, the vamp mom has not gotten the moodlet at all, just the kids.

Have you tried adding a second fridge, or replacing the fridge entirely?  Has the fridge been cleaned out ever?  Do they still suffer if they eat from an alternate meal source placed in the home (if you have one), like University's barista bar or any of the store items (ice cream, pizza oven, etc)?  Can the mom cook a meal and does it have the same effect if it doesn't go in the fridge?  What about if the meal is raw (salad, parfait, sushi)?  I wonder if something in the cooking process is 'tainting' the food (either the fridge marks the produce as bad, or perhaps the stove does).

Does the mom have simmunity or the slob trait?  If the game thinks the food is spoiled and she's got either of those she wouldn't be affected by it.

One quick fix to try in a non-dynasty game is to move the household to another home via Real Estate then move them back in.  Sometimes just that will fix things.

The other quickie is to move the household out to an empty lot, save the household to the bin, save a copy of the now empty home to the bin, delete both household and home, and place bin copies back down.  If there's sim-made art and such in the home it's best to put all of that into a sim's personal inventory (or the family inventory in a pinch).  If all goes well the family keeps all relationships and careers and the house thinks it's brand-new again.  (As always, save before trying either just in case)

PS - Sorry for so many questions.  I find this bug you're encountering very unusual and most curious.  It's quite the mystery!   ???
