Save Game Issues

I recently bought Sims 3 and a few EP that were on sale last week and ever since I am having the same issues.  It try to save at the end of each Sim day and sometimes will will work fine, but here is my issue and it is driving me nuts =(

When it doesn't work it will just save (the saving icon and motion will show up) and nothing else, like it jumped into an infinite loop.  I've been trying to find others with this issue, but no joy on my end.  I keep reading about Error 12, but I never see anything saying any kind of Error.  I play this game on two machines, depending where I am that day, 1 laptop and 1 PC, and both machines are monster FPS purpose built machines so I'm well within min-specs of Sims.

I've also tried "Save as" option but it will do it here too, depending on it's mood.  I'm at a loss and I'm hoping there are solutions out there that I don't know about yet.

I had the same sort of problem in my game, where it would try forever to save and the only way I could end it was to use task manager to shut down the game.  In my case, this would happen after I used Buy Mode or Edit Town.  I contacted EA and they recommended that I do a factory reset.  I did, and so far the problem appears to have been fixed (fingers crossed that it will continue).

Another issue that has been reported to cause save problems is rain puddles, so if one of your new EPs is Seasons, that might have something to do with it.   It's not always easy to know what's causing the problem or what to do about it, but at least you know you're not the only one to experience the problem.

Both the factory reset and the save problems related to rain puddles have been discussed in different threads here in the forum.  I don't have the links just now, but they should be easy enough to find if you try a forum search.
