My Sim can't go to work!

I can pretty much explain this in a few sentences. Essentially, every time the carpool comes to pick up my Sim for his Journalism career, it pops up in the interaction queue ("Go to Work") for about a second and then disappears. If I manually click on the car to direct my Sim to go to work, the same thing happens. It also happens if I go into town and select the building he works in and direct him to Work. The icon shows on the interaction queue for even less time and disappears, thus making it impossible for my Sim to actually go to his job.

What could possibly be going on here?

What I would try is go to your workplace but just using the go here comand. Next, when your sim gets to your workplace you start clicking work on your building over and over again. Another thing you may want to try is changing into work clothes and then selecting work. Hope this helps!

You could also try the resetsim cheat which gives your sim neutral moodlets and frees them if they are stuck. It isn't always obvious the sim is stuck but I find resetsim is a very useful cheat if you ever run into trouble.

Did anybody find a solution to this problem? Because I'm having the same trouble and resetting or driving her to work doesn't work. The icon shows up for second and then goes away again.

I didn't know about this thread else I would have posted this sooner, I recently had the same problem with a sim dropping her 'go to work' from queue, what worked for me was to make her a second career outfit with the stylist station, after that she left for work fine.

It seemed the game had lost her default career outfit, I could see it with the stylist station or dresser but under the change outfit menu it was gone until I created a second outfit, then it returned.

So try making a new career outfit with the dresser or stylist station then change them into it and they should get in the car pool.

This is one of my job challenge sims so I've had to rinse and repeat for each job, bit of a pain but at least it works for me.

Yes, it was the corrupt (I think) outfit. She had her graduation robe as her career outfit and this didn't work. I created a new outfit for her and now she up on the career ladder
