Items dropping out of inventory when moved

Several times lately I've noticed I keep losing items in my backpack when I try to move them from one slot to another or from a slot to a place like the frig.  They just disappear.  Not on the ground or anything, just gone.  Anyone else had this happen and is there a fix?

I recently had this happen. I lost a few paintings when I tried to put them on the walls. I checked both sides of the walls and they weren't there. No idea how to fix it : (

Slightly off topic, but similar.  Every now and again, my sim will cook a meal, but, on completion it simply disappears.   As to the missing items from inventory, I don't know if it is worth trying, but, pressing the up or down option may bring the items back if your game is paused when you move the item.  I have noticed that if you delete an item then press up or down, then return to the original level, the item returns.  As soon as you leave pause, the item is gone for good though.
