I put a lot of items in my alchemist's cabinet; gems that have been cut or the gem dust from cuttings. Bottles of elixer, metals, and other items. I went to get some moonstone dust for an elixer and everything was gone, and there was a lot of gems and gem dust and metals. I had gems and gem dust from all the gems needed, the metals needed, a few bottles of elixers and now they have all vanished.
It's not the first time I have had this happen, does anyone know why this happens? What triggers it, or is it just one of those glitches that show up from time to time.
The only thing I can think of was that I had gone into edit town, created a couple of ponds to put deathfish spawners in, as they are hard to find and went to a new garden I created to remove some dead plants that showed up after my sims leave.
I got the normal message of all whatever will be gone if I save the changes, and since my sims are focused completely on their careers they don't have any friends, contacts, or such.
Is that the cause? Or is there another reason for this happening?
