Career bar too high for Private Investigator LTW?
« on: July 19, 2010, 01:17:49 PM »
I haven't really played or had much interest in the ambitions careers but i'm doing PI right now and it seems excessively too much for the LTW. My poor sim is only four days away from elder and still has like fifteen or something cases to do. And that's with doing nothing but career related stuff...having no personal life or a family. Maybe 20 or 25 would have been a better number?

Think I'm going to stick with guitars and painting...too many donuts will get my sim fat anyways.  :D

Jestina, I had exactly the same experience.  It took hardly any time for my P.I. to reach level 10, but achieving those 35 cases was taking forever, even though she worked all her waking hours.  I finally scrapped that game and decided I probably won't do that profession again.  I totally agree, I'd much rather do painters and musicians.

And I should vent again about criminals not being able to break into houses. Seeing as the PI can do it, they should allow something like that for those on the criminal track.

Law Enforcement would be a better option over PI...not only do you get a free cop car, but you can also get a free lap top. I guess you could um...take the cop LTW and then switch to PI after you do that...so you can get another free car.

This echoes a criticism Carl had in his PI walkthrough.

Jestina, I made your topic description a little more specific.

Agree with the OP ... it is now VERY boring.
Our PI got to level 10 fairly quickly, and now every case just moves the career bar about 2mm.
And there's nothing to think about, either ... just click "Interview" "Do Something" and "Report In".

The incredibly talented "Amy Slingsby" is about to find a new career direction  ::)

Trust me, the PI has nothing on the Architect for impossible LTWs. The architect goal is 100 PERFECT remodels. I still haven't gotten a single one. Don't forget, if you want more jobs for the PI you can look on the computer or police station instead of waiting for the next opportunity.

Agreed!!  We played our Architect for about 5 Sim days, and eventually stopped bothering; too long-winded and faintly boring - he's now a Ghost-Buster.

Can't say I was too thrilled with the PI that I was playing for awhile.  I eventually turned her into a writer.  I might go and mess around with it some more later, but I'm not sure.

I won't touch the Architect LTW with a ten foot pole though!

I think the architect career itself is kinda fun.  I like the idea of altering the town for the next generation.  But the LTW is terrible!  Even if it was 50 perfect remodels it would be too hard!

I know I quit shortly after getting to level 10 of the PI. I also found the ghost buster fun but repetitive after a while. The one that has held my interest the most is the inventor. This might be due to the miner and time machine. I'm trying to get enough costumed "children" from the past to use that castle stuff I bought from the EA store.

I agree with all posts.  I am not going to say it can't be done, but very slow going.
