Stage shell help please

I'm trying to build a stage using one of the shells in buydebug.  I've tried to build a raised area using the foundation tool and friezes, (it will be on a large floored area), but I can't fit the shell around the raised area.  Is the stage supposed to be lower than the shell?  It just doesn't look right and the shell is just enough different in size that I can't make the stage area fit in it perfectly.

Which Shell are you using? The Park Shell is the same height as a Foundation but you need to use Moveobject on to place it around the stage. Basically it needs a foundation for the stage 8x7 or whatever and then 3/4 tiles at the front on either side for stair access:

So the big metal one seems to only be suitable for a platform, I know what you mean about it not looking right though because of the skirting but I think it's supposed to be like that.



The other stage in Buydebug is really weird. It could be for both but looks weird with both... There's a high foundation high back, yet a platform high front/side. That and the foundation really messes it up and I had to do this to make it appear.

Did you lay down the foundation first or the shell and then build in the foundation?  I've tried both ways and I always wind up either with it not showing or with a bit of hang over.  I'm using the park shell as the others really didn't look right on the pier.  I think it's going to be really nice once it's done.  I had to move one of the buildings and make it a bit smaller to keep the traffic flow the way I wanted it but that was ok.  I made it into a souvenir, (for venues), shop with the kind of stuff you'd find during intermissions at a concert.  That part was fun!

EDIT:  Still having problems making things not disappear.  Also, I think part of my problem is I'm trying to build it ON the dock and what happens is, if I use foundation block it is about a half height higher than the shell so it really looks weird.  If I use just the platform it still looks weird and not really like you'd expect this kind of performance stage to be.  I felt the park shell was right for the pier since it had a nice open air feel about it but it's just not working. 


EDIT 2:  I gave up.  I'm making my own.  But I might ask you for some design help, please.

I put the overhangs down first because they kept trying to be placed on top of the foundation/platforms. Then I just filled it in with whichever and it let me. If it disappears do what I did in the last picture and cover it over with floor-tiles.

Sorry to dig up an ancient thread, but I need some stage help.
I have the stage item placed with the foundation inside it and the stairs. But how do I get the 8x7 Stage piece? Also how do I get the "proprietor square"? Does it spawn on its own with the stage?

The stage piece, audience seating squares and benches are all in buy debug on the last tab, the proprietor square should spawn on it's own after a while, there isn't one in buy debug.

If you use the seating squares without seats it just tells people where to stand to watch the show, if you do choose to put tables like at the coffeehouse you have to place the chairs and table outside of the square so they are lined up then move the whole thing into the square.
