Does Burglar Music Creep you out?
« on: September 27, 2012, 08:35:20 PM »
The burglar music...every time my sim has a burglar the music is just burned into my mind.  And I keep on thinking that a burglar is going to come out of knowhere!  Hehe, in case you didn't already guess, when my sims can afford it, I buy them a lot of lights so I can see if a burglar is coming.  If my sim gets a burglar then I am paranoid the entire sim night thinking that there's going to be a burglar appear out of nowhere.  what...my sims are possesive about their stuff.

I have to constantly check where the burglar is to get out of the confusion the tune causes... Confusion over "is this the burglar tune or the ghost tune?" Because though they are vastly different, they creep me out exactly the same...

You can buy burglar alarms so you can get cops to come and arrest them.  One time there was a glitch with that and the cop said they burglar got away but it was still in my yard.  The burglar wouldn't leave for like a week and because the burglar was still there the alarm was still going off so my sim couldn't sleep.  Also, don't games zoom in on the burglar so you know where it is?

Well, it does for the console versions anyway and the older sims games.

I know....it's just the music....it just stays there!  And after I heara it, it just keeps playing back in my head... well either way, the music is just creepy.  Oh well, it's better than the sims 3 kids music blaring in my ears every time a burglar comes. Hehe. I hate the kids music on the sims 3 even though I'm technically a kid!(to be fair, a tween.  The age when you're not quite a teen or a kid.)

Yes it really does. And right now I'm being robbed... And no-one is home! I hate the burglar music!

It is creepy, though it might have something to do with the lighting of the game world, or maybe EA just has a very good composer.

If I remember correctly, you will never get a burglar if at least one Sim is awake, and in the house. That's why I stagger my Dynasty's sleep times - ie everyone will be asleep while De Arbol is skilling. Then when De Arbol goes to sleep, I wake up Serrano and have him watch TV. The house is never quiet.

That is useful, but I won't be able to utilize it because I use their sleeping time as a chance to have a break without pausing and stopping the advancement of the game because it can sometimes get stressful after playing a full day (in-game) of sims. Guess I'll stick to the ex-con managed burglar alarm.

In the older sims games the music did creep me out.  I am happy that in the Sims 3 Pets for PS3 the camera centers in on the burglar.  I usually have burglar alarms on both sides of the front door.  One time I had it on one side and the burglar came into my house from the other side of the street so the alarm didn't pick up the burglar.

The music doesn't bother me in the least.  I have ALL the music turned off!  Family was complaining about hearing it day after day.
What?  Grannies can't play games?

No. I'm more creeped out when I heard ghostly music theme. That was scary! Especially when I play on night ~_~
