Selective Music Muting?
« on: July 18, 2010, 10:50:05 PM »
I'm annoyed to death with a constant glitch that makes the music coming from a sim stereo get dramatically louder when my focus returns to the house from some other place in town. It's already set on low, so I have to click med, then low again in order to quiet it.

I know I can turn off music in the options, but I like the steady volume game music, just not the glitchy stereo music, so I don't turn it off. Is there some way that's not apparent to me? Or maybe this is my own private glitch?

I'm not sure if I'm on the right track, but in my experience, it's normal for the stereo to get louder when I'm closer to it.  If I zoom the camera up or move to the back yard or something, the volume decreases.  Then when I focus the camera back in the room that has the stereo, the volume comes back up.  To me, this is normal because in real life, the stereo would sound louder if you're right in the room with it.

Right, that's what I'd expect, but that's not what's occurring for me. Must be my own bug.

Perhaps you added custom game music to your folder, and maybe that's conflicting with the other categories? This is definitely a bug, but it has never happened to me.
