Trade kitchen secrets

What has happened to the 'trade kitchen secrets' option? When do sims get the option to do that? I was sure that if my sim was a natural cook, and met another sim who is a natural cook, then they would have this option once per day per sim.

EDIT: I think the problem may lie in the sims that are created with the sim finder app. They are seriously lacking I was hoping that I could summon sim after sim with the natural cook trait, and learn recipes quickly from them. It seems that option has been removed from them, but my sim can still trade secrets with the good old originals in Sunset Valley.

I have only ever been able to do this with people are actually employed in the Culinary Arts at the start of a game.  It doesn't matter which town once the original employees die, it just doesn't seem to be an option anymore.

Those are very interesting findings.  I had a natural cook unable to trade kitchen tips, but I was wondering if it was due to her natural cook trait being in the social influence slot rather than one of the original five traits.  But she was also trying to trade tips with a sim finder sim, so that might've been the problem too.

Hi all,

The trade kitchen secrets option was available to me yesterday while I was chatting with Christopher Steel who has the natural cook trait and I chose it and it said I learned a new recipe from him.

Dumb question I know, but how do I know if I am interacting or chatting with an "NPC" or someone else thats online like me playing their own sim in "real time."  I'm always logged in, does that mean anything?  I have a romantic interest that when I asked if he was single, he said he was, he kept calling me, now he never calls to chat or for a date at all and it says that he has a partner.  I can't figure that out.  Are all the townies that have names I never heard of new sims that have been created either from the game or from people like me playing the sims3?  I guess what I want to know is how can I interact with a sim thats online like me in real time where they can respond on their own and initiate kissing, and other romantic options, woohoo, etc or does the game not work that way?  I know I should know all this already, but sometimes it gets a little confusing  especially the whole "edit town" thing which I used and I lost my previous  game because I accidentally deleted the town.  Hope that makes sense.

Your question is off topic as it has nothing to do with trading kitchen secrets.  Next time you have a question like that just start your own thread.  However, The answer is the game doesn't work that way.   The only time another person will have a Sim in your world is through Simport.
