Going home after university?

Hi, I was just wondering when sims leave university to go home. On carl's sims 3 guide, it says sims go home saturday night around 9, but is that only if you have graduated? My sims won't have enough credits to graduate(I want them to go multiple times), so will they leave at a different time?

I've had 3 students and they all left Saturday or Sunday night. I can't remember the exact day as I don't have a student right now, but I know it's a weekend night at 9pm.

They will return home on Saturday at 9pm at the end of the term. If they don't have credits at term's end, you'll have to send them back to finish it out.

I had major trouble getting two sims home after two terms. Final exams had passed and the schedule was back up like there was another week of University! They just had to drop out and go home! Another time, I had a sim make a B for one term. She went home and such, but never had a graduation. Do they even get dressed in the cap and gown and that kinda thing with UL? Oh, wait. Maybe she didn't have enough credits...
