Best place to put crib?

Hi all,

Where's the best place to put a crib for an infant?  I notice that sims don't walk around with the baby or even up the stairs if the crib is downstairs.  If I wanted the baby downstairs during the day and upstairs at night do I have to keep removing one crib.  I notice that a sim won't walk up the stairs at night to put a baby down to sleep in another crib thats upstairs if theres already a crib downstairs.  If all sims are upstairs sleeping in a household its a pain to keep walking downstairs to change or feed a baby in the middle of the night when its crying.  Is there an easier way to go about this or am I doing something wrong here? I don't want to put a bed downstairs in the living room.  Sims don't seem to react to the baby's cries at night when all sims are sleeping upstairs and the baby is downstairs at night.

I usually keep one upstairs and one downstairs like you said.  However, at the end of the day or in the morning, I always specifically tell the Sim where to put the baby.   You can do that by clicking on the crib and saying "Put Nooboo in crib."   That way they can be where you want them to be.
