Game Won't Work Properly

Hi. I've recently re-bought Sims 3, and made a new profile so I could start the game from scratch, but when the game came onto the screen with the map, and says create sim, choose household move in household, the only one I can click on is create sim, the other two options are grey and won't allow me to click on them. Do you know why this is? I also haven't got half of the items I used to be able to get in the exchange either, for eg ugg boots, they aren't there to click on either. Please help! :-)

You're probably in Tutorial Mode. If you go to Options --> Edit Town, the game will prompt you that you can't do that in Tutorial Mode, and will ask if you want to end the tutorial or not.
