Rainbow Gem

Quick question;Where can I find the rainbow gem pls?? thanks

Which town?  There are ways to get one without knowing the town like werewolf hunting, dog hunting, board breaking, drilling and witch conversion.   To find it on the ground, we need more information like a town.

The only place I ever found a rainbow gem was behind the criminal warehouse near the dumpsters.  Rainbow gems are probably the hardest ones to find.

There is also a tree in Sunset Valley where one turns up occassionally.  Sorry, not been playing sims recently so can't give exact info.  I think it is something like Redwood Drive.  It runs out of town parallel to the coast and has three beautiful vista lots, thought the first two are now occupied by EA created community lots.  The tree is approximately opposite the middle lot.

If you are level ten martial arts and have broken 150 oak boards, they turn up quite frequently when you break spacerocks.

Using the miner (buy it from the consignment store, or make on the invention bench) is another way of finding them reasonably frequently.

I'm assuming you want to find the gem (on the ground); not sure how to get it otherwise with only Showtime and Generations. As far as I know, for Sunset Valley, the rainbow-gem spawns are

• behind the criminal warehouse (as Ricalynn said)
• the rocky area opposite Redwood Parkway (as Wai said), and
• the rocky outcropping on the hill near the abandoned mine.

You may not find them there the first time - if you don't, take the gem anyway and wait for the spawn to come back. Keep trying; it's likely to take some time to show up.
If you have a child in the household, you can hope to get the scavenger hunt opportunity, which tags every gem on the map including its name; works better than the collection helper. Do note that the gem might not show up first try; you may need to grab the gems at the relevant spawns and try again.

No luck finding the rainbow gem in all the places mentioned. she also had the scavenger hunt opportunity and I was quite excited to see the gems mapped out but unfortunately no rainbow gem popped out. My sim is now a teen so she had given up finding it.

For some reason I think I remember finding one on the path behind the stadium leading to the fishing spot behind it.  But all you can really do is just keep checking every day.  Getting the collection helper will help find all the gems.
