Bugged Lot -Annoying & Funny
« on: December 28, 2009, 04:09:14 AM »
Good thing I don't have to work tomorrow.  ;) Can't sleep. So, I had started out game # 3. Moved them into 9 Sun Song Lane. Indiana Jones moved into modest shall we say accommodations. I plan on posting the story later but I am going back to give you an idea of this lot.

I first had him get a partnership with the Bistro. The bug started early. Because I built the bathroom first, there was no "front door". I noticed early on that went people would come over; they would just stand near the mailbox. When the house was built, and I did have a front door, no one would ever use it! They would always stand in the same spot. I just got used to playing aerial view because of friends dropping by. I deleted the front door several times. Always bought a new one, and set as front door. Lived with this glitch..  :-\

Now, this game I did not use any cheats. Until today - I had on testingcheatsenabled true. Only used it to edit basecamp in China. Came back home, and used the dragging of the energy bar to make one of my gardeners reach her lifetime wish. No other cheats in this game. I must have forgotten it was on, because the shower broke, and I just went into buy mode and deleted it. (Don't know if this matters or not)

All of a sudden, I have mysterious puddles just showing up in my living room. Had the daughter check every single sink, tub, toilet, shower, dishwasher, trash compactor etc. Checked upstairs and down. Nothing is broken. I get this:

So, I deleted everything on those 2 walls:

Deleted all the appliances etc. Bought everything new. Water STILL shows up out of thin air! Here's the funny part. Tiberium experiment was going on during all this. When I went into buy mode to replace the appliances, here is what I got

YES that is FRUIT all over the living room floor!  :D ;D

Garden sprinkler is nowhere near the house btw. What do I do?  ???

I will love him and squeeze him and pet him and call him George!!

Sorry...  I say scrap that game and start over.  I have no idea what's causing the water.  Very bizarre.

OMG that is TOO funny! It's bad enough to have water all over your house...but now fruit? What's next.....smelly fish laying all over the floor?  I swear this has to be the buggiest sims game ever!  :D :D

Wait... let me get this straight. Water and fruit are appearing on your floor? Wow, that's partly annoying/partly funny. I would stay for a while for the fruit but I agree with the idea of moving house.

Surely it would be funny at first, but after a while that would drive me insane. Imagine if you moved to every house in town and the same problem occured everywhere. A bugged town...

In Sims 1, I always used Move_objects On cheat. I don't know if it exists on Sims 3, but you could move unseen items like the car portal (where the car for work appears) and walkers by portals. Along with the occasional spot you can choose for them to use some objects, like the toilet, spin it backward and they sit on the toilet backward, or move it on someone's bed.

If that cheat doesn't exist in Sims 3, then sorry for wasting your time :)

It could move puddles, maybe the spot where the water comes from is the broken showers portal, left there to leak on the floor. Maybe, maybe not. I suggest its worth a try. If not then i have no idea what else you could do apart from moving house.

Thanks all for the tips! I went back into the game, and everything is back to normal, but I tell ya... I was just staring at the screen saying to myself "you've got to me kidding me!"  ;)
I will love him and squeeze him and pet him and call him George!!
