Bachelor/Bachelorette Party
« on: March 16, 2013, 09:01:41 PM »
I recently got two sims engaged,  and I want to throw a bachelor party. However, the option doesn't show up in the throw party menu.

I've never thrown one before, so I don't know exactly what to do. I do have generations, and I recently updated to patch 1.50 and installed university life. I've looked on different sites and searched on Google, but I can't find any answers to my dilemma.

Also, the engaged moodlet has worn off (I did try to throw the party while the moodlet was still available). The only party options I have are: house, birthday, feast, costume, gift giving, juice kegger, and bonfire.

Thanks in advance.

I never had this experience before. I do also have Generations and updated to patch 1.50.
I'm curious about your post and soon I tried it too.
My Sims currently at boyfriend relationship, soon after that I make him engaged.
And then I try to throw a party. The option itself still available in my game.

I don't use mods. Do you use some mods in your game?
If yes, try to remove the mods, try to clearing the cache and restart your game again.

If you don't use mods. Sorry, I can't help you. Maybe others can help.

I've been playing a completely clean game. No mods. Also, I have just installed my games because my hard drive broke beyond repair, and I had to replace it.

It might be because the engaged moodlet has worn off, that's the answer that makes the most sense to me.

Yeah, maybe there's a time limit for when you can throw the party and when the moodlet goes away, time's up.

I'm sorry but I have no idea about it. I wish that I could help you.

Just as others say. Yeah, maybe there's a time limit related? I usually throw the bachelor or bachelorette party when they are still engaged. And soon do the party afterwards. Usually I was reminded with other Sims that who my Sims friend to throw the party. Maybe, there's a chance to get the option back if you try to break them up and reunited them again (not recommended but it's worth checking)

Also, I was checking too into old couple who only one of them that throw the party when they was young. They have been together since 57 days. And Bachelor party not show up as a party option. My other Sims who have been together for 23 days too don't have this option when they decide to throw the party now, they are married without do bachelor and bachelorette party before.

I remember. The option still available though when they are newly wed. But, it's not for a long time.

This maybe can be a hint :)

UPDATE: Ah, yes! I can see it now. It's like what Rainbow Dash said. It has something to do with the moodlet.
So, I make my Sims get engaged, the bachelor/bachelorette party option is still available.
Soon, I make them do Private Wedding. The moodlet "Just Married" appear for 2 days. So, I was tried it again.
And tadaa... The option for bachelor and bachelorette party is disappear. Hope it will help you!

Yes, the moodlet thing does make since; however, when I had the engaged moodlet, I still didn't have the option to throw the bachelor/bachelorette party.
Also, I noticed that I don't have the Wedding Party option. That shouldn't have anything to do with the engaged moodlet.

I didn't mention this before, but the fiance lives in the University world, and the active sim lives in Bridgeport. I want to say this is the reason, but I really have no idea.

Once I realized that I didn't have the Wedding Party option, I Googled again. I found a possible solution:
This is a long shot but have you tried going into edit town mode, evicting one of them from their home and moving them right back in? It's weird but it seems to fix a whole host of problems.
I'm off to go try this on my situation.

clocole, I believe that we have a same problem when it comes to University. I've seen this before.
You can also check it here. Her case is similiar like yours and she already solved her problem.
Maybe you can learn something from her post :)

Do your Sims live together? If not, you can make your boyfriend/girlfriend move in with your Sims.

Edit: Oh, ok then! Good luck!

Thank you everyone for helping. After adding the fiance to the active family, I now have the option to throw a Bachelor/Bachelorette Party as well as a Wedding Party.

It's such an easy fix, but I wouldn't think that sims would have to live together in order to throw certain parties. I'm just glad it's fixed.
