Pestilence Curse

I did a quick search, but didn't find out much info on it. I had a level 10 witch cast it on someone, than I basically forgot about it and went on with his life. A few weeks later, he went to the consignment store and all the specialists were coughing and gagging which I thought was hilarious. Weird thing is I tried to save him in edit town so I could have a level 10 witch whenever I wanted, but it wouldn't let me save him. I thought it was because of the curse on everyone, so I did another level 10 witch, but I saved him before I did the curse. After the curse spread, I saved him and it worked fine, so I guess my question is what exactly, besides making sims sick, does the pestilence curse do?

I haven't used the curse before, let alone had a Witch above Level 5 but looking on the Guide and it says:

Pestilence Curse - begins a 1 day countdown to cure the Sim with sweet honey, spicy chili pepper or the Sunlight Charm. If the Sim isn't cured, they will suffer a nasty illness and -30 moodlet for 2 full days. This can spread from Sim to Sim.

Not sure if that is of any use to you?

Yeah, thanks Thomas! I was also wondering if there is any effect on being able to save them to edit town? I think it must have been a one time glitch, but it made me curious about what else the curse can do!

Anyone around the sim with the Pestilence Curse can also get sick. From what I've seen so far they will either a) get the Nauseous moodlet from being around the sick sim, b) get the Sick and Tired moodlet which means they've caught the curse, or c) both at once. Beyond that and the occasional coughing fit...I don't know. I just got the EP yesterday.

In my try of a decadynasty that rests at the moment my entire family had the pestilence. Some days before I bumped a Witch at level 10. Big fault. He seemed to be somewhat unsatisfied and almost every sim in the town got the pestilence. It drove me crazy...
The good thing is that a sim gets an immune moodlet that lasts 2 (or 3, I'm not sure) days after the nasty illness moodlet.

So besides coughing and puking and the immunity that last 2 days, that's all it does? Man I was hoping there was more to it! Thanks guys!

Be careful; because my witch also caught it from the perso she cast the spell on. However, the "sunlight charm" cures it.

My sister had a sim die from the curse and an another one almost died from it.  So I do now it can cause death.

Yeah he's gotten it more times than I can count lol. Shift+clicking the moodlet works as well, plus he gets the immunity right away too!

Really? None of mine have died yet. What color is the ghost for that?
