Can you leave something for another sim?
« on: July 19, 2010, 10:31:30 AM »
Here is my senario. Sim #1 Adam, has been played for awhile and got the collection helper. I want to not play him anymore so I plan on keeping him in the neighborhood and switching households so I can play a new sim. Can I leave the collection helper at his house or somewhere on the ground for sim #2 to go and pick up? Or will it dissapear? One idea I have is to put it in a house and have Adam move out and sim #2 move in. Any one try this?

I have done that before.  I have a collection helper that has been around for generations.  It applies to any object.  When I a family moves out, the items stay in the house.  Just have whoever you want move in and retrieve it.  I have done this with paintings and gems too.

Awesome. *looks around with a guilty look* I feel like it's... cheating!
LOL I know it's not but I never do anything that gives my sim a unfair starting position.
I feel like I'm skipping school for the first time all over again... not that I skipped school, well only that one time... senior skip day.
Thanks!

LOL.  I know what you mean.  Funny, I had left some seeds in one of my, many family towns, and I went back to the house that some sim had moved into.  I think it was a descendent of the Goth family, anyway, I happened to look in the window and there were the seeds, right where I left them.  I thought that was just too cool.  They had been there forever.

Very cool. Well I am glad I asked. I think the strangest things when I am cleaning the house about sims. Glad to have this forum to ask away when I can't load up my game and try it out.

If you don't want to move in to the house to retrieve it, you could cheat to get enough LTH to get a completely new collection helper with your new family. Method to do this is to be found here.
