Written books

Is there any way to find out how many pages a written book has, who the author was, and what quality it is (hit, best seller, masterpice, flop)?

Assuming that the author is a living member of your active household it is easy - go to their skill journal, and change the list of available genres to the list of books written.

If they aren't, I have no idea.

No, they're not books written by the household - they're books generated by the game at the consignment store. I figure that it has to store that information somewhere - when you hover the mouse over a painting in your inventory, it tells you who painted it, and what quality it is. Not so for the books.

I don't think books work the same as paintings.  They don't have that information connected to them.  They're just books.  :)
