Fire Death All Over Town

Hello fellow simmers. Suddenly there has been several sims catching on fire all over town. When my sim shows up at different venues around town there are 2-3 sims on fire and burn to death. I try to send my sim to "put them out" but she never gets to even try. The affected sims die simultaneously. The grim reaper shows up and takes each one, one at a time.

I am playing in Twinbrook. I am all patched up to date. I am playing Seasons and have turned off all weather options. I do not have, nor ever have had any Mods. Do you think I am experiencing a glitch or a bug in the game, or is it something "normal" that happens with the Season's expansion pack? Is anybody else having the same thing happening in their game?

If Sims stay outside too long in the heat, they catch on fire.  I've had it happen a thousand times with paparazzi if I don't offer them shade.

What do you do to provide the shade for them? Many of my townies will let themselves starve to death and ignore their needs completely. I have story progression and free will turned on high, but they still do nothing to care for themselves or even save themselves even though they are near food, bathrooms, shelter, etc... I have been playing this Sim and town for many sim weeks with saving often. This burning to death problem just started happening recently. I have sent my sim to several venues and more times than not, there are 2-3 sims on fire. Erggg...very frustrating and unpleasant to watch. It's downright depressing

Are you playing a challenge file?  If not then maybe it would be a good idea to set the temperature to always be the same temperature.  You never said if you were playing all the seasons or just one.   It only tends to happen in Summer.

No I am not playing a challenge game, just playing for leisure. I have stopped all weather action, but the game keeps one of the seasons checked. I think it is summer that is still checked, so maybe that is the reason the sims were burning to death. You mention setting the temperature, do you mean by clicking on one of the other cooler seasons or have I missed something in the settings options?

I quit the game and then restarted my computer and then reloaded the game. I have been playing for awhile and so far so good. Hopefully it will be ok now. Thank you for your help.

If you throw on TestingCheatsEnabled and then click the ground of your home lot you can set the weather, seasons and temperature.  You can set it to be a balmy 70 degrees F or whatever the equivalent in C is all the time.
