Opinions please -- should a community garden have showers?
« on: February 27, 2013, 01:50:45 PM »
I am doing some finishing changes to my community gardens and am seriously considering putting some showers in them.  Since I have WA, I just send a sim right off to China (generally) and buy a bunch of  meals and showers in a can for my sims to have when needed.
So, when out, no matter where, if they need to be clean they just shower away (nor have to worry about being hungry).

But, in a community garden that I hope to make available to anyone, should I have showers?  There are plusses in it, anyone who downloads won't have to worry about their sim needing to leave to take a shower, they can just clean up and go back to gardening, or something else.  Sim's don't  have to worry about the neg moodlet from being stinky, or upsetting someone they meet and have an interest in if they are stinky.
The minuses are that it will take up more room, that I may have to have two separate buildings labeled as male and female, could there be problems with a sim coming out of the shower as someone enters the building and having the embarassed moodlet.
So, what are opinions, for my sims, I have the showers in a can, but for those who might be interested in downloading the garden, do you feel it would be an asset?

I think showers at a community garden are a great idea. They don't have to take too much room, you could just make a smaller room inside the loo that houses the shower. Or if you have them, outdoor showers would be ideal.

I've made community gardens with showers, I've even put showers in EA created lots occassionally in the past.  If you think your garden needs showers, then put them in  ;D.  Sims get filthy in no time at all when picking fruit off trees so, let them get clean too.

If you don't like the idea of showers, you could put hygienators in the doorway to the toilet. Stack a few together so when they all go off at once, a sim's hygiene goes right up.

Don't forget the outdoor showers in the Serenity Retreat venue (Store item). Those require no rooms, and don't cause any shooing or embarrassment because Sims shower wearing their bathing suits. I think the outdoor showers would look great in a community garden, surrounded by flowers and trees.

Are hygienators found in the Store?  I am going to check them out and also the outdoor showers.   That sounds nice, to be able shower while in a bathing suit.  Get the dirt, grime and sweat from harvesting off and not have to worry about getting embarrassed by being caught in their birthday suit.

Hygienators are an invention from Ambitions.  Either your Sim has to invent and build one, or you can sometimes find one at the Consignment Shop.

If you're not against cheating, they can also be found in BuyDebug.

Yes!  This is a great idea, and I think I may put some into my community garden, now that I think of it!
