Sims getting fatter
« on: March 18, 2013, 07:07:38 PM »
I am used to playing sims, changing households often. I notice that for example I played Sim 1 then after 2 days (real days), I will play 2. When I got back to play  sim 1, I notice that he became fatter, this also happens to other household that I am playing. What is going on? Is this normal. They dont have SLOB or couch potato trait and some are unemployed while other have a job but eventually if I dont play them they get fat. Is this normal?

This is something that Story Progression can do.  I haven't seen it much lately, but I used to see it quite a lot.

This happens to me all the time, especially when I jump between households in the one game.  I have one witch keep a steady supply of Lean and Mean elixir which, once thrown, seems to cure the problem.

That's one solution. Unfortunately, I only have Showtime and Generations installed.

Hi,

I know what you mean.  I keep having to go into the cheats and then edit my sim and keep having to slide the bar all the way back to the left for the least amount of body fat.  My sim never eats when he's full either.  I wonder if its all the muscles I gave him lol.  :)

I also wonder why sims keep choking on their food when they eat, I can see if maybe its spoiled but its always good, great or outstanding quality. :)

It happens with Perfect meals too.  It's one of EA's quirky things, like the toilet flush which was amusing the first few times but after 4000+ hours of playing, it's just plain irritating!

The problem with Sims getting fat also works in reverse.  I once played Cycl0n3 Sw0rd and bulked him up in the body sculptor LTR, but within 2 days he was pencil thin again!  I'm sorry but there's something very wrong with a Sim that emaciated in adulthood!

Another thing I've done to change the weight of townies is get my Sim enough Athletic skill that she can train someone.  Then invite the Sim to the gym and train him/her on the treadmill.  Many times, the target Sim will stay slim because once the Athletic skill is gained, he will want to keep working out.

Even without an athletic sim, a slightly more passive way of initiating weight loss is to pan the camera over to the gym and see if any chunky townies are there. Sometimes, merely watching them will prompt them to go on the treadmill (or it will backfire and they'll prefer the weight machine).

Pam's solution a bit more direct.
