Half-Tile Foundations

I am currently building a house, and part of my build requires the use of half tiles. I know you can build half tiles with the floor tiles with Control+Z, but is there a way to do the same thing with foundations?

I believe the only way you can do this is using the diagonal tool and overlapping the two sides (not the hypotheneuse) with pre existing tiles. I may be wrong, though.
