Holidays on the Wrong Day
« on: July 08, 2013, 09:13:16 PM »
I know this sounds very odd, but my Sim holidays fall on Thursdays instead of Saturdays. I was only ever able to fix this with a mod, and I think it may have been Tempest by twallan (or one of the components of Story Progression). Has anyone encountered the same?

If you have 7 day seasons, the holidays will always be on Thursdays.  It's how the game was made.  So those aren't the wrong days.  If you would rather them be on a different day, then that's probably what the mod did for you but I'm not sure which one.   I'm going to move this over to the Miscellaneous Help board so maybe someone else will see it and know the answer.

Oh, it's the 7 day seasons then. I thought that they were supposed to be on Saturdays for some reason. Thanks for the quick explanation. If someone can tell me which mod it is, I'll appreciate it. :)

I have an interesting issue that's similar. I installed Seasons while I had a long-running file. When I opened that file, I found that due to the game being on Tuesday, the holidays did fall on Saturdays. It's been like that for a long time. But now it's gone all funny. The game is telling me that the holidays are Fridays now, and the kids get a day off school and the adults get a day off work (sometimes) but then on Saturday I get the notification of the holiday and everyone gets the moodlets and the special holiday wishes! Any idea what that's about?

Hmmm. No. I haven't done that in too long. Thanks for the reminder.

I've noticed that if you change the length of the seasons, it changes the day that the holiday falls on.

The holiday always falls halfway through the season.  So it's relative to your season length.  If you always want the holiday on Saturday, you could go with 14-day seasons.  If you'd like the holiday for each season to be a 'random' day, then set your season length between 8 and 13 days.
