Is there any way to get relics without travelling or placing WA lots in normal towns? (or using buydebug)

Relics are not available in home worlds without buydebug. Even placing the lot would not work because the register comes up blank.

The register only has gems and metals. I can place the register on any community lot - but by the challenge rules I can't place a tomb to explore for loot. I was hoping that there might have been some way that I didn't know about.

It could be a massive game spoiler, but it is completely non-cheaty. You use the display table, and transmute random items to get fragments. Once you have enough to build a dive well, put it together. Then, go into buy mode, and ctrl + shift click the well (no TCE required). You can then choose whatever treasure you want the well to have. Make sure to clone the well and assign treasure to each individual well. Then, have you sim explore the dive wells! You are limited to what is in the list, but it is a pretty good list!

You can do that with tresure chest too, it will not respawn but you can set as many as you want. Explained in details here. Seemed to be broken after some of the patches, but if it is working with dive well than it should work again with treasure chest too.

Can you get pieces for sarcophagus from the display table? If yes, then it's another object that can spawn treasures too.

They can, but you can't 'look inside' them on a home lot. Also, I don't think you can get treasure chests without buying them from a WA location or from buydebug.

Ah, I didn't know there is no look inside option on home lot. And I guess there is no way to rebuild the sarcophagus on a community lot, right?
For the treasure chests, some say you can sometimes find them at the consignment shop, but I've never seen any myself. Don't they spawn sometimes at the junkyard?
Anyhow, it's a nice idea you've got there. And I'm sure you'll make good use of it and bring in some incredible score in the tournament.

I hope so I waste too much time on the long ones though, and then don't finish. You definitely can't get treasure chests from the consignment store. It's not in the code. I've never seen one spawn in the junkyard, but that is not one I have checked.
