Load Game...
« on: July 12, 2010, 04:25:41 AM »
I have the first Sims 3 loaded in, then I thought I didn't need it anymore when I loaded World Adventures. Now I can't find the first Sims 3 to re-download it. Is there anyway to get it from the Sims site? I should have asked before doing it, but I wasn't thinking right.

Scratch that. I found the CD but the code isn't with it. Is there any way to retrieve it?

I have tried that. It only brings up the World Adventures serial code because it's in my computer. I uninstalled sims 3 completely thinking I didn't need it to play world adventures but i seems that it does. My mistake. I can't find the little booklet that came with the game. Doing a lot of moving things around.

If you are having no luck finding the booklet that came with your copy of the original game, there are 2 options available to you other then what you have tried.

Option 1. Buy the game again and then copy the activation code down somewhere safe.

Option 2. Contact EA to see if you can get a duplicate code from them.

In case you need proof that you bought the game, did you register your game on the sims 3 official website? If you did, then it will show that you have the game in your Sims3.com profile.

I got it. Thank you all for the help. And yes I do have sims 3 and WA registered on the main site. I know i have to download all the things I had on the game before but I was wondering how can I get back the eyes and such? There seems to be a lot less clothes options then before and the nice eyes are no longer in there as an option.

What do you mean by nice eyes?

When creating a new sim you have make up options. The one where you can add paint onto the face also had different color eyes to choose from instead of having the face painted.

That sounds suspiciously like a third party mod I accidentally downloaded. I would not advise trying to download it at the time, though, since the Exchange is full of bad, half-...Er, well, the mods are not properly made, and they screw your game up bad. I had the doll that caused a lot of problems, the 'New CAS project' problem, and the demonic vampire lady shirt that turned kids into demonic creatures from the bowels of the earth. Trust me, it's worth it to just wait till the Exchange is fixed right back up.

I never downloaded anything that the site hadn't suggested. Never caused me any problems how ever they got there though. Was just curious to know why there weren't there anymore and that would explain it. Thank you. I have one last question, do you have to have the CD in to play the game? I tried playing it without the CD but it says it needs to be in. The reason I am asking this is because I am thinking about getting the ambitions from the site directly. How would that would if you need the CD to play? Sorry so many questions.

In that case, I'd think you only need the original Sims 3 disc. It should explain when you download.

I believe what you're talking about is the new makeup that came with World Adventures.  It was exotic and unusual, right?  If you have World Adventures installed, you should be able to get that makeup.  Sometimes it doesn't show up for me and I can't figure out why.  But when I try again later, it's back.
