Paper boys and baby sitters
« on: February 10, 2013, 05:19:06 PM »
I've heard stuff in people's stories about paper boys and babysitters having different aging or something and I was wondering what the specifics were for that...
Please take a look at my story, the Thousand House!

It's random.  They are supposed to have the same aging as the Sims in your house and if you move them in, they will.  However, babysitters and newspaper carriers are notorious for aging up on the way over if you invite them for a visit.   I've had a child sim in my house meet a newspaper carrier, invite them over that afternoon and the person age up to teenager on the way.  Invite the same person over the next day and they were a Young Adult.   The game just ages them up randomly but there are no specifics.  I know one newspaper carrier that stayed a child for four generations but I also never invited him over.

Personally I had the situation in my Life States Dynasty where my teen sim met someone who had Babysitter listed as their job title. They were the proper life state that I needed to have to bring in the next generation and I needed them to have a Romantic Interest in order to complete their requirements. My sim checked her friends list, saw that he was still listed as being in high school, so invited the boy over intending to sweep him off his feet, complete her requirements and live happily ever after as an eventual widow. The intended sim showed up, right on time, but I had no romantic interactions available. Turns out that during the time between school letting out for the day and him coming over he had a birthday and was now a young adult.  ???

Ah, I see. One of my Sims is a paper boy. Will that be a problem?

No, it's just the NPC Townies that are the issue. The sims in your household are safe from this.

Paper Boy is one of the ranks of the Journalism career.

Newspaper Carrier are the kids that deliver the newspaper to your house.   These are the bugged NPCs.  This doesn't happen to Sims in your household.
