Ghost Dishes?

My Sims get disgusted every time they go through the kitchen, and I hear the flies, but I can't find the dishes. I even hired a maid, but they didn't do anything about it. How can I fix it?

Do you often drag plates towards the trash can or fridge?   Sometimes if you don't let a Sim do it they will get caught between things.  Check under counters, objects anything nearby especially if you've used MoveObjects on recently.   Or it could be caught between that level and the basement.  I've seen that before too but sometimes it's hard to get it exactly.  You'll need to build a basement if you don't have one already and try and look for it.

I know it came with world adventures but I think it should be available with the patch.

It's one of the options in build mode.

Would it go away if I moved them out and in again?

If the problem is an object left on the ground, it probably wouldn't.

You might be able to find out about where the "phantom dishes" are by marking out where people are standing when they get the "yuck" moodlet - the edges of that area should trace out a circle (or part of a circle) with the center about where the stinky object is. Or move all the furniture and see if there's somewhere you can't delete the flooring in build mode.
