Inappropriate...but in a good way LTR
« on: July 09, 2010, 10:08:40 AM »
I was reading over the section on lifetime rewards and what they did and didn't see this particular nugget in there. The Inappropriate but in a good way reward is very helpful when you are doing the interior design profession. It will let you 'try' out all of the objects before completing your makeover to make sure that everything is accessible and usable. For example, if you are remodeling a bathroom and want to verify that the shower and sink aren't too close together to be useful, you can (with the help of this reward) go to live mode before telling the client your renovation is complete and take a shower, wash your hands, etc., to make certain that the shower doors will open. I've used this reward almost exclusively for this profession (didn't see the point before) and it comes in very handy. I've caught potential mistakes a few times where I had a bed too close to a dresser, or two living room chairs too close to a lamp to be accessible.

Wow, I haven't played with this career too much yet, but it sounds like it is really useful to take that LTR. How many points is it to obtain the reward?

It's a cheap one, only 5,000 happiness points.

I agree that would sure make things easier. Especially in the times when you're dealing with cramped spaces. It pretty much blows your chances of a good bonus no matter how well you did otherwise if you have this issue come up. So, great tip, adding it to the guide right now. Both to the LTR and architect profession guides.

It's always nice to find a good use for these otherwise odd rewards.

I get the Inappropriate But in a Good Way LTR when I have a large family that has moved into the town, or a lot of close friends.  The mother/grandmother can go to her daughter's house and cook some meals for them without getting fussed at.

I use it when traveling so that I can cook meals and bathe in local homes without getting yelled at or ask to spend the night.
