Pet bowls spawning fruit

I'm trying to put a bowl for my kitty to eat, but everytime I do I see little icons of fruit, and my Sim even ate a life fruit. But she has plenty of fruit in her inventory.

Are you talking about purchasing a food bowl in Buy Mode?  What exactly is it doing with icons of fruit?  And what does the Sim eating a life fruit have to do with any of it?  Can you get a screenshot?

Yep I buy a food bowl in Buy Mode and if I hover my mouse over the bowl, it says such and such fruit. It's like I put a piece of fruit in the bowl. I can get a screenshot. I clicked the food bowl it said something about it being a Life Fruit, my Sim ate it. It said Agnes has eaten a Life Fruit and grown younger, but I never clicked the Life Fruit in her inventory, I clicked the bowl and chose eat, then the message came up. I'll get a screenshot, it might be easier to explain.
Edit: Can't get a screenshot because it's not happening anymore, but if it happens again, I'll be sure to get one. It went away because I closed the game and restarted it.

Did you end up selling fruit through the inventory of a sim? Since either Supernatural or Seasons (not sure which, it's when I came back and the difference for me was both these expansions), if I sell stuff through my inventory, some of the time a copy will appear on my lot as well as giving me money. Happens with things from cars to produce to books. If that is happening and the objects are appearing on the space where the food bowl is, that could be the issue.
