I named it after the Billy Joel song.

Song names for chapters will be a common theme. Just like book names will be.

I use song names for chapter titles all the time.  I'm really enjoying this story.

Stop And Stare

Calvin remembers being kicked and yelled at. “HOWDAY!! Callie! Wake up!” Maisy Miller yelled and kicked the poor man again. “The fire’s out! Now wake you big baby!” “Honey, I think you should go home. Calvin’s been though a lot, and I highly doubt putting him though more abuse will help.” The motherly voice said, probably while wearing an amused smile. “... Fine. See if I care.” The first voice stomped off and a few minutes later, the motherly voice told him, “Calvin dear, I’m afraid you will have to get up. Even if it’s just to sleep on the couch. You’ll get a cold if you stay out here much longer.”

“Okay Auntie Jack. I’m getting up.” Calvin groaned as he sat up and grabbed the hand that Jacquie Miller offered to him. The Millers were like family that lived next door. Quincy was willing to lend money and time to help them,  and for nothing in return. Jacquie would help take care of the family garden and clean the house right after the accident, and while Calvin was finishing up the last semester of high school. Maisy was... Well, she was a good friend to the younger kids, and to Calvin... Well, they were close, and maybe once upon a time, they were closer.

“How is my favorite ex-ward of the Sim Nations?” “Worried about his sanity. And his brother. Aunt Jack, Cory sent the basement on fire!”

“I know honey, I was there. Now I know you’re new to raising kids, but maybe you should parenting him.” Jacquie tossed her head back and laughed.

“I know Auntie Jack.... But it’s like he enjoys getting in trouble. He just laughs it off and get in trouble again! What should I do?” Calvin’s shoulders slumped as a defeated look crossed on his face.

“You know, the same thing happened to a friend of mine. Daughter kept on rebelling, and so her mother just spent more time with her. Then the daughter was an angel!” A knowing look passed over Jacquie

“.... You’re talking about Maisy, aren’t you?” A smirk crossed the older woman’s lips. “Maybe, Maybe not. But just try hanging out. Go to the movies, or visit the army base here. Cory would eat it up! I’m sure of it!”

“Okay then. I’ll try that. Thanks Aunt Jackie, your a life saver- Where are the kids?!” “Don’t worry Calvin. I sent them to bed. THEY SHOULD BE SLEEPING!” Jacquie yelled the last part as if it was a hint to the mummers that were down the hall.

“Cory... I can’t sleep. Will you sing to me?” Her voice was tired sounding, as if her light was sucked out when she crawled into her bed. “Sure thing sis. What song do you want?” His voice had lost his usual bravo, and left a pleasantly innocent ring to it. “I don’t care. I just want a pretty one.” “Okay.... I can do that.” There was pause while he picked out the song for his baby sister. “I found God... On the corner of First and Amistad. Where the west, was all but won.” Cory began in a soft voice. “All alone, smoking his last cigarette. I asked, ‘Where you’d been?’ He said, ‘Ask any thing.” He continued on until the song was over and both children were asleep.

“Cory.... You’re a pretty singer.” Rell half said and half snored, then rolled over and fell asleep. (Note: If Rell was awake, she would have said something along the lines of: "Cory, you seem to be an exceptional virtuoso.")

Of course, Calvin was wide awake after all that happened. He just sat in the kitchen and worked on his si-fi novel until the light of dawn.

A/N: First off, thanks for all the comments! ;D It makes me feel so happy. Second, I hate nothing to do with Jacquie and Maisy Miller coming over during the fire. They just came over at 3:00 AM. :-\ Really nice of them to do that. Gave me something good to work with, plus Calvin leveled up in Charisma.

Wow... Over 500 views! I feel so happy knowing that so many people have read (an hopefully liked) this!

I'm still working on getting the next chapter ready, and it should be ready soon-ish. I had a panic attack while playing and ending up losing a couple of days, but I'm getting back up to the part I quit without saving. Then I'll write everything up, and post! (See? Posting soon-ish.)

Don't you Worry Child

The next few months blurred together. The blurs would sometimes stop, and then there were hard, real memories that were out of place, and time. But there out of place memories showed how much was changing, and was actually changing for the better.

Calvin furiously struck the keys as he requested a classified for the paper. “This is stupid. This is a waste of time. I should be doing something useful. I hate my sister, I hate the good ideas she has, and I hate that she’s right about this.” He mutter while Rell looked up from her book and replied, “It’s not my fault I’m smarter then you. Though with all the books I’ve read, it’s not really that hard.” She stuck her tongue out at him and harrumphed.

Cory started growing up. He cleaned up his own messes, and started using his head most of the time.

“So Callie.... Why don’t you have a girlfriend? Is it because you’re too wussy to ask someone out on a date?” The daredevil inquired.

“Well... Umm..... You see.... Yeah, I don’t have an answer to that. Don’t ask people such rude questions.” The elder brother glared at younger boy.

“It’s not MY fault you can’t pick up a girl. But try taking Ditz to the park. There’s this once lady who adores dogs and visits there pretty often. Her name’s something like ‘Hannah Greyhound’ or something.” Cory leaned back in his chair and smirked.

“... And that’s why you’re not going to have a birthday party. Because I can’t trust you with little things, like not killing Rell, Ditz, and yourself. So instead, we’re going to be spending you’re birthday together. So I can make sure that you don’t do anything stupid. Got it little bro?” Calvin asked.

“May we go to the army base? I heard that they have drones and stuff. Oh, And I wanna go see a concert, and-” Cory was suddenly cit off by some-sibling else.

“I’m in the room you know. Would it kill you two to notice that? Also, with the recent decrease in money due to the fire, I’ve been researching the idea of moving in a roommate to help pay off the bill, and make some money. And with the absurd amount of single people without a family, I think the possibles of having a good roommate are in our favor. Also, we could easily give the Calvin’s current char of a room to the said said roommate, and just move Callie into Mom and Dad’s- Uh, I mean the master bedroom...” She murmured the last part with a wince and started reading her book again.

Calvin noted that this was a reasonable, and clever idea. But who want to move out of some nice sane place, and move into a land of crazies?

“Yeah, this place is insane. I mean, who let a 17 year old move in? Shouldn’t she be with her family or something? And no one here get the idea of helping those who need it. I tell them I want to build a pound for strays, and I’m the crazy weirdo!”

“Tell me about it. Other day I tried explaining to my younger siblings why should they should make at least a weekly donation to ‘Toilets For Tots’ and I’m apparently the devil incarnate!”

She laughed and asked, “So, I’ll be moving in about a week, right?” "Yeah, I'll help if you you need any." Calvin grinned a charming smile as fate spun its web around the two.

A/N .... And I have nothing to say but bonus points of you know who the lady is, and that Cory and Rell don't have the Evil trait. They just find their older brother being... Well, and older brother.
Thank's for reading! See you next time!

Give the girl a prize! And I'm happy you liked this, since I wrote it out of order to give it this mismatched feel. I was worried that it'd be hard to understand. ;D

Turns out, Hailey didn’t move in that week. Or the next week, or the one after that. Apparently Hailey’s oldest sister went into labor during a “Make Sure You Pay Your Last Week of Rent” party. (Yeah... At least it can be said that Hailey’s roommates liked her somewhat.) Still, the move-in date was moved about a month ahead so she could help the sister with the kids or something.

Then Calvin overheard the NEWS from Rell.

“Cory, the toilet won’t flush, it smells like sewer, and it’s been this way for weeks! Why Calvin hasn’t noticed it yet!? She complained. “He’s such a day dreamer!”

“Yeah, yeah, yeah. Tell it like it is. He’ll have to notice eventually.” Cory rubber his chin and pondered something. “Rell, do you think it’s possible to use the stuff in the chemistry room at school to make something explode, or to start a fire?” The elder one asked thoughtfully.

“.... How are we even related?” Rell went back to picking her food and stayed quiet throughout the rest of the meal.

"So, is that a yes, no or no idea? I really have no idea about this. Gimme some help please!" (This is when Calvin stopped the train wreck that was going to happen. Because nothing good could come from if.)

Calvin was terrified by the NEWS.

Cleaning the toilet was not a job for the lighthearted.... But somebody had to do it, and it was pretty clear that both Rell and Cory had standers when it came to house work.

So the next day Calvin woke up before anyone else....

“H-Hey there sexy....” He grinned weakly at the mirror as he walked by it. “Ready to prove your worth to everyone?”

To be clear, this job did happen to be as awful as it looked. But still the side affects of Calvin proving his salt was a bit troublesome.

“Hey Calvin, the shower has a bunch of lime build up or dirt. I"m not sure. Could you fix that?” But then again, this was far better then Cory setting of a few fireworks in the basement.
