Ghost Baby: I Need to Understand What's Happening in My Game

So I had my Female Faerie and CAS Male Ghost have a baby.
The baby in question is a male Ghost.

I had tried twin ghost babies before with a Male human and Female Ghost using the Oh My Ghost! oppurtunity 3 days after she, uh, "mysteriously" had walls built around the small pool she was in, and sudden fatigue.
Both of her twin girls were human, as I fed her three watermelons in her pregnancy and had her watch kids television and music.
All parents were Young Adults.

The one with the Ghost mother was my first attempt, the Ghost father an accident, a happy one though.

So, my question is, why?
Why did the accident have a Ghost baby, and my deliberate attempt yield in humans?
The only differences were that in my attempt, my game had no expansion packs or updates.
My accident has Ambitions and Supernatural and was updated 12 days ago as of 1-5-13.

Random chance. Sometimes you get the ghost child, sometimes you get the other parent. Can't remember if a ghost sim has a 33% chance of having a ghost child or 50% chance.

It is a 50/50 chance of being the same type of sim as either parent, if they are not the same type. Two normal sims will always have a normal child. So that fact that both the twins were normal sims, was just the code falling into the normal sim side rather than ghost. There is no way to predict which type of sim they will be untl they are born, and no way to affect it either, unless you have the non ghost parent drink a ghost potion to become a ghost temporarily.
