Sim can't tutor kids

Hi.  I have a sim who is trying to get his logic challenges through tutoring children and teens.  I've achieved this challenge many times with many sims before, so I'm baffled.  I'm playing Twinbrook and he's tried to tutor 5 children and 2 teens.  They sit down together and then get right back up.  I know that if the kids are A students the sim can't tutor them and I know to use the tutor under the friendly menu.  It seems that all the kids in town are A students?  Can that be?  I use Twinbrook a lot and I'm quite familiar with the townie kids.  This is a fairly new game and I've never had a problem tutoring these kids in the past even when going for this challenge in a longer run (aged) game.
Does anyone know of, or can think of another reason that my sim can't tutor these kids?

Could it be them needing to eat, use the toilet etc? Alot of the time Sims in my game cancel interactions to do things like that.

Hi Toni, good thought, but no...There are no bubbles over their heads to indicate stress.  And often, since he can't tutor them, I just get the sim to play games with the kids.

In this one game, I've taken control of 4 kids.  But all the others should be tutorable (if that's a word  )

Does this still happen when you close and re-start the game?  Maybe try a global reset with "resetsim *" without the quotes.  That resets the whole town and sends everyone to their home lots.  But maybe it will also jostle that bug out of your Sims.

Hi Pam, yes it still occurs with a shutdown and re-open.  I routinely delete the 4 files and any error files and I close my computer every night.  I haven't tried the global resetsim though.  Will give it a try in a few hours.  Time for my zzz's.

If all fails, move the bugged sim to the clipboard and back in. He will loose his wishes though.

Hi all.  Thanks everyone.  I did the global reset - no luck.  I then went to another sim's house, she had no logic.  I worked her up to level 5 and she also has the same thing happen.  So it's not a bug related to one sim.

I had that happen while I was playing in Union Cove, practising for a challenge last year. One sim could tutor one child, but not the other, and vice versa with another sim. I don't know what caused it.
