The Grenadier Game Show, Ch. 4
« on: January 21, 2013, 05:11:57 PM »
Authors note: This story is a challenge I’ve set out to do personally. I’ll post the rules I created if anyone’s interested, but the first post belongs to the Grenadiers. As it should.

This is the Grenadier family. James, the businessman, who married perfectly normal and proper Helen, who then promptly gave birth and had one child, Felicia. Having settled in Moonlight Falls, the Supernaturals who came out of the broom closet were quite a shock.

And so, James took a new job in Union Cove. A place he believed would be better, bigger, and more civilized for their family. Felicia is a teenager, and childhood is soon forgotten, her mother said. This place will be fine.

…yeah, it hasn’t quite worked out yet.

Felicia’s been keeping a secret from her family. Not surprising, since she’s Rebellious.

Felicia’s traits are Natural Born Performer, Ambitious, Rebellious, and Athletic.

The first day in Union Cove found her over at the gym. After busting out a few reps, she catches some guy flailing at the machines—Declan Jade. Amused, she chats him up, and the two decide to hold an impromptu water balloon fight right in the middle of the gym!

Felicia’s nana-nana boo-boo face here cracks me up.

After a few days, her parents take the option to have a free vacation. Felicia promptly celebrates her freedom by trying to let the frogs all loose at the school. The results were a bit surprising.

The cop made sure to tell her he’d be talking to her parents.

“Sucker, my parents are gone,” she thought.

Felicia decided getting caught wasn’t enough, and held a raging teen party. I couldn’t get a good group photo because the house is so tiny, but here she is rocking it out and watching the others with a grin. It’s good to be popular.

Except…

Yep, busted again. New cop this time, and he gave her an earful.

As a funny random aside, I caught this action as the policeman was coming up to her.

The two girls are macking on the policeman! Is it the uniform? Maybe they assumed he was play dressing. Hmm.

Her parents came home then, and Felicia was promptly grounded. Unfortunately, they yelled at her through her passel of friends, so no shots of the humiliating moment.

She couldn’t go to the Leisure Day Festivities the next day since she was grounded. It sucked. She did some chores and got on her mom’s good side again.

And decided that she didn’t want to be grounded anymore. Time to stick to the books, get her homework done and give her parents something to be proud of.

She doesn’t like doing homework much, does she.

Her life is going pretty well, but Felicia dreams of more than this small house and her parents aspirations. What will she become?

Thank you! I'm actually surprised at how rebellious she actually is--that trait seems to influence her waaaay more than I thought it would! She cracks me up.

Felicia hasn't decided where she wants to make the most of herself, but she's dreaming big. Every night, it's the same thing.

Funnily enough, although she never cooks, this pops up many times a night too!

I bought her a cookbook and she's reading it, but it's going pretty slowly as she's trying to make good on her promise to do her homework. She works on it at the gym a lot, where she lifts weights to keep the stress down.

Being good is hard. And she's not wholly successful at it. All of that homework must've done her in, because she got her wish to have her first kiss. With two different guys at the same time!

Darren York was the first. He already invited her out for a brief flirt before school, and then came over after. He started chatting her up.

It wasn't long til they locked lips.

Felicia had a pretty good time, but she just wasn't feeling it. Darren left, and the next day she found out he was going steady with another girl. Well, that's okay. Liplocks are fun and all, but she's young, and didn't want to settle down. She's got a career to follow.

So she invited Scooter over, and they watched TV. It wasn't long until they started making the moves on each other.

Their kiss was interrupted by a phone call from a third suitor asking Felicia out on a date! She wasn't too happy about it, and from the looks of it, neither was Scooter.

Scooter did just that not long after. I think the phone call killed the mood, haha!

She took a little break after her homework to rake leaves.

...and promptly played in them. Atta girl. (I love her giggles and smiles while she tosses them about.)

Every teen on her way to greatness deserves a rockin' party. Felicia's parents, thrilled with her improved grades and lack of cops at their door, agreed. They called up a bunch of friends, and got rockin'! Well, except her Workaholic dad, who just -had- to take a call on the dance floor.

Felicia, little star that she is, took a little bow.

...and promptly grew up into the ugliest set of clothes I've ever seen. She does NOT look thrilled. It cracked me up.

A quick trip to her room to fix it, but enoute she was accosted by a dear friend of hers. Someone she's had a crush on for quite some time.

He talked to her all the way back. She finally had to excuse herself for a quick wardrobe change!

Here's some shots of her clothes (minus her regular clothes, I'll have to get that later, sorry! A little sexy, a little daring...and a small something else you may notice in the photos.

Last but not least, she did up her hair in a fashion much more suited to her tastes. And gained the trait Daredevil.

And so, after all the guests had left, and graduation happened, Felicia took her graduation gift, a new motorcycle, and left her parent's home.

Goodbye, old house.

He-llo, new house!

A quick turn of the lock, a sweep to make sure everything's in order, and she dropped into bed, exhausted from the move. She has a plan, a new lifetime goal, but it's too late to think about it now.

Tomorrow is early enough.

It was the only word I could think of for this little group. And it's aptly named, I hope, because all of them want to be superstars. It's a little challenge I made up in order to try out more of the interactive professions/explore Union Cove more fully, and it's evolved into a story along the way.

The first thing Felicia did with her newfound life was jog on down to the park. After a futile attempt to find the proprietor, she ended up chatting with a very pregnant woman about the Simfest.

The woman was quite forthcoming. She loved the Simfests, and the performers. She practically glowed as she described it, and her pregnancy. She even let Felicia touch her tummy.

Kids were ok, but Felicia has other goals in mind.  It’s enough of the small life for her. No more boring. No desks, no books.

She was going to be a performer. A Famous Acrobat, and her stage name—Gretta Garters.

Felicia is setting out to be a Five Star Simoleonnaire.

“I’m here and ready to perform,” Felicia asks the proprieter. “Sign me up for that Simfest. I’ll rock their socks off.”

“Not yet. Simfest is for makings of current performers.” The proprieter jabbed a finger at Felicia’s nose. “New sims is for miming! Go forth and mime, and return when you have more skill.”

She shoved some clothes and facepaint into the bemused Felicia’s arms.

Well, when in Rome…

She shoved her way around her invisible box with as much bravado as she could muster.

I mean, it’s a box. So… it’s scary, right? She kept up her faces. It must be at least a little amusing.

This was hard work. Geez! She stood as a statue, staring back at the crowd that’d formed.

Put in the tips. Put…IN…Yes!

She kept performing, and the simoleons came in!

As the sun lowered, Felicia became acutely aware of the sun’s rays on her pale skin.

“That’s it for Gretta Garters, folks!” She winked at an older man, who blushed. “There’ll be more where that came from soon!”

A little razzle dazzle with the hands, she grinned and her gaze swept over the crowd. And landed on her good friend, Declan! He’d been watching most of the time.

“Nice tricks, Lish,” he said.

“Lish.” She rolled her eyes, but grinned. “I’m starving. You wanna  grab a bite? Or will that Halliwell gal let you?”

“Yeah, we broke up. So I doubt she’ll care.”

Awkward.

“Uh.” She cleared her throat. Felicia was no good with this romance crap.

“Hey, the stars are looking mighty fine.” He pointed up, and Felicia followed his finger. “That one’s Pangu’s Axe. See the blade?”

He sat, and she followed suit to watch him trace the constellation’s outlines. And blushed a little as he sat close. Whatever cologne he used was divine.

“Hey Lish, go out with me sometime.”

She glanced back into his deep blue eyes, and tilted her head to the side.

“Okay. But not tonight—I feel like a clown in this getup.”

Yes, yes we will. :) I'm surprised that she wants to date at all--not in her trait coding at all, haha!

This was stupid. She didn’t have any time for love, she thought. And the fact that she ended up flirting all night only to give him a hug at the end… she liked him, she really did. But when it came to the liplock, Felicia was inexplicably shy.

She decided to write him a love note. The look on her face had me hooting.

Also, miming was ok, but Gretta Garters has her sights set so much higher than invisible boxes. Now that it was winter, she gave it another try with the proprietor.

“Excellent!” clapped the woman. “Now you are for making the real shows. Come back on Tuesday.”

Thank  god those stage lights are hot, because she didn’t want to freeze.

As a little penance, and because she needed to keep her funds inching along, Felicia put on a Snow Show. She showed off some old moves.

And a few new ones.

The more dangerous, the bigger the crowd.

As she finished her last contortion and took a bow, she swept up and looked right into Declan’s twinkling eyes. He invited her over to his place, and the two talked for a long time. And she found herself falling for him.

She never understood why someone would want to saddle themselves with another person, but knowing she has someone who always makes her laugh, enjoys her stunts, and who has his own job—well, that’s a good guy. A real keeper, as her mother would say.

The next day he came over, and after a rousing snowball fight, the two tumbled inside, cheeks ablaze and laughing. As he told her about his latest sculpture, she got the wish to marry him.

She locked lips with him.

Felicia isn’t one to ponder it; she just goes with her gut. And she proposed to him right there in her house.

His face had me cracking up. I guess he didn't see it coming either.

I love how she slumped over in relief when he said yes.

And as she didn’t have the funds or care about sharing a private moment, they got married right there.

Congratulations, Felicia and Declan Jade!

The next post will be about her career and continuing the challenge, but I couldn't ignore all the personal story cropping up.

Between having a lot of problems with this file (I've given up playing it, so many bugs and issues, I get frustrated), and actual paying writing projects, I'm afraid I have to put Felicia in the graveyard. Sorry Felicia. :(
