Could someone try installing this world :)
« on: December 07, 2012, 05:34:35 PM »
Edit - So I managed to export the world.... but now it won't show up in game hah. If someone would be so kind as to install it and tell me if they can actually begin a game using it that would be cool. Thanks :D

Edit: Actually if anyone else is bored and free to try, I just need to see if this world can actually be exported. If you can feel free to message me or leave a reply here and we can figure it out. Thanks!

Nore I downloaded it, unzipped it and put the file into CAW, (noob/blonde moment  ::)) and it fails to load properly (once again, total noob) but a .world file is for CAW, is it not? ;/

Indeed it is :) Move the file to your Documents - Electronic arts - Sims 3 Create a World Tool - Usertooldata - Worlds folder. Then open up CAW and you can open the world from the file menu. But really you should not need to open it (although that would be good to know hah) just click Select File to Export and choose the same file from your Worlds folder. Thanks!!!!!!

Edit: Figured out why it doesn't work hah. You need both the world file and the world folder which both go into the same Worlds folder I mentioned. So anyway here it is :) http://www.mediafire.com/?xw4slerk6hmfho6

If you export your world then you don't need world files, just exported one that is in My documents/EA/Sims3/Exports and you can share that exported file you need for installation, not whole bunch of CAW files ;)
With Seasons and Supernatural there are couple of bugs with CAW including exported worlds not appearing as installed. There is workaround to that:

-Install your world - double click on the file in Exports folder or trough the launcher.
-Go to your DCBackup folder and find latest and biggest file installed. (It has long coded name.package exptension)
-Rename that file into what you want your world to be named, and change "package" into "world"
-Copy that file into Program Files/EA/Sims3/GameData/Shared/NonPackaged/Worlds
(I copy that file also into My Documents/EA/Sims3/Installed worlds)

So now when you start your game you can see it in main menu to start new game with it.

It worked!!!!!! You are amazing... just.... wow hah. I was already looming over the idea of beginning all over :( I was wondering though if you or anyone knows where the equivalent folder is on a mac. I had to use parallels to locate the nonpackaged world folder hah. And of course when I was in game, there was a new issue. I included an image below but does anyone know what is going on with those lots. They are lots where I placed a build from my bin on them in edit in game mode and then saved my world file with them. Now the lots are empty and not just that but it looks like the land on them is sunk into water or something.

Find that tip on official forum, so not getting credits for myself, and sorry to say dissapearing lots are listed there too but not shore there is a workaround. I had that issue only if I delete or build lot in EiG. Are they appearing in CAW or they are gone there too?
Here is a topic about all the issues and workarounds related to latest CAW version and EPs.

Thanks for the link :) I was just googling and it is difficult to know what to look for lol. They are there in CAW and even in EIG mode, just the world ingame has the issue. Maybe I can try deleting the lot and trying ingame after, who knows lol. Good to know it is the version and not just my computer though :)

I got it to work.. in CAW. I played around with it a bit, but before I upload anything I want to make sure you're OK with the style and things.

Sure take some screenshots so we can see :D It actually isn't finished yet lol, I was just exporting it so I could work on one of the lots. A few of them are unique sizes so you cannot create them using the ingame edit mode. I didn't do the harbour yet and spawners or lights, or colouring hah. So quite a bit to do, but the lots should be buildable if you like :)

Yo Andy :D I like what you did hah, I think we should move the images back to the thread about the world though before we go too offtopic and then we can discuss it there :)

In other news lol, I tried deleting the lots and throwing them back on, I will reexport it and let you know if it works Anushka :) Thank you again so much for all the links and solutions!
