Invisible objects blocking sims in Moonlight Falls

Title is the quick version of what looks like a routing issue :(

So I have a family of four sims on Moonlight Falls that I've been playing a few days. The house they're living in was downloaded and placed before I created them and they're the first family I've had live in the house. It came empty, i furnished it and apart from some issues with the spiral staircase (resolved by building a normal stair case) there hasn't been an issue. Then this morning one of the sims couldn't use any of the toilets in the house, she got stuck in the bathroom waving her arms around at me. I assumed something got in her way, moved her using moveobjects on and set her on her merry way. Then a racoon knocked over the garbage bin and made a mess of the front yard- when I sent her out there the same thing happened and I couldn't get her to walk anywhere or perform any action, just staring at the tipped garbage bin. To test what was going on, I moved her out of the way then tried to get her housemate to perform the same action and I was met with the same result. Reseting the sims doesn't work, moving them only works for so long before something invisible blocks their path and they start carrying on- everytime they go outside they get stuck. They're also doing weird things like walking through walls/closed doors, or walking down the stairs where there are no stairs. The funny thing is it's only effecting the adults from what i can see.

Darn witches.

*To note I have no mods, I use cc, all expansions excluding show time are installed and some of the stuff packs, but not the latest patch.

So yeah, anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? Moving to another lot seems like the most obvious, which I've avoided up till now because I'm pretty proud of their house. How ever if people think that's the best solution I'll give it a try.

Welcome to our Forum.

Did you try the global reset?  With testing cheats enabled, type "resetsim *" without the quotation marks.  It will reset the entire town.

Another thing you can try is going into Edit Town and evicting your family to the clipboard, them immediately placing them back in the house.  This will delete all of their current wishes, but everything else will remain intact (skills, friends, etc.).

I had the same problem. I finally fixed it by moving the family with house to the clipboard, bulldozing the existing lot, then placing the family and house back on the same lot. I did lose their promised wishes but everything else remained the same, minus whatever was causing the routing issue.

I had tried the resetsim trick with no luck, and when I tried using the sledgehammer tool to correct it I ended up with floating floor tiles that I could not delete because they were required by an object.

Also be on the look-out for "social-jigs" which can cause routing issue's as well.

I don't know if it's related, but I have at times noticed some weird metallic-looking oval shapes on the floor or ground lately (since installing Supernatural and Seasons). The first time I saw it was in my Sims' own house, where it was invisible at first and driving me to complete distraction because it was blocking several tiles I wanted to build a half-wall on. Once it became visible I just deleted it. On two other occasions, these things have appeared on the festival lot.

I've seen the same issue from somewhere on this forum. I remember someone took a picture of it.

I linked to that thread in my earlier post. It's the second one. I get them everywhere now. Even got a notification that my klepto-Sim had swiped someone's "social-jig". I can't return it and now have a blank square in my family inventory.

Sorry, must've skipped over that.

Yes, that is it. Social jig, huh? Google shows that it's popped up in the past, after the Pets release at least: "Basically it's what the game uses to position two Sims together when they are interacting to make sure they are stood in the correct place. The game should delete it when the interaction is completed or cancelled."

Curious, but it makes sense I guess.
